Visit Longwood Gardens, with more than 1100 acres of gardens, woodlands and meadows. It is on the US Register of National Historic Places. Pierre S. DuPont purchased the property in the early 1900s and opened it to the public in 1921. The large conservatory is home to 4800 types of plants. Throughout the gardens are lovely fountains. There are even 3 tree-houses to explore. Longwood Gardens is a feast for the eyes at any season. Tour the gardens at your own pace and have a nice lunch on your own.
